The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as a rectangular island (dims. c. 20m x c. 20m) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and now situated at the NW tip of a peninsula (dims. c. 200m NW-SE; c. 80m NE-SW) projecting from the S shore of Clooncullaan Lough North (dims. c. 600m E-W; c. 150m N-S at W to c. 300m N-S at E). Circular scrub-covered and stoney area (diam. 26m) built on a marl base and attached to the peninsula at E. Possible crannog (RO022-055003-) is c. 30m to the E, and possible crannog (RO022-055004-) is c. 110m to the S. Animal bones were found on the E shore of the peninsula c. 200m to the ESE.
