The National Monuments Service's description

Marked similarly on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated towards the bottom of a gentle N-facing slope. A natural spring surrounded by a concrete wall (H 1.2m) and the source of a stream which runs off to the NW. It is not known locally as a holy well, and there is no evidence of or record of veneration.
