The National Monuments Service's description
On the NW-facing slope of a broad, low drumlin. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 50m N-S; 50m E-W) with mature trees defined by an earthen bank (at W: Wth 6.5m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.9m; at S: Wth 8.3m; int. H 1.15m; ext. H 1.7m) ENE-S-W which is reduced to a scarp (H 1.3-1.7m) elsewhere. This is separated by a complete fosse (Wth of top 8-9m; Wth of base 4m at N to 7m at S) from a second bank (Wth 7.5m at ENE to 9m at S; int. H 1.05m at N to 1.9m at S; ext. H 1.4m at W to 2m at S). A second outer fosse (Wth of top 6m; Wth of base 3.5-4m; D 0.2m at E to 1.1m at S) is visible E-SW. There is an entrance through the inner (Wth 2.2m) and outer (Wth 1.5m) banks with a causeway (Wth of top 3m; H 0.6m) at W, but there may have been another entrance through the inner bank (Wth 5m) at N. An ENE-WSW wall with Cloonahee House and its outhouses beyond it truncates the outer bank slightly at N.
