The National Monuments Service's description
At the crest of the W end of a slight E-W ridge overlooking a small lake (dims c. 180m NW-SE; c. 80m NE-SW) which is c. 100m to the W. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 39m N-S; 33.5m E-W) defined by a gapped earthen bank (Wth 5.5m at N to 6.3m at S; int. H 0.5m at W to 1.05m at S; ext. H 1.8m generally to 2.2m at S) NNW-S-W, which is reduced to a scarp (H 1.5m) elsewhere, and an outer fosse (Wth of top 8.5m; Wth of base 4.7-5.3m; D 0.7-0.9m) NNE-E-SW. The entrance (Wth 1.95m), partly revetted with stone, is at E. The fosse is truncated by a NNW-SSE field wall at W and by an ENE-WSW field bank at N. A curving scarp (C 10m; H 0.3-0.5m) W-N-E just E of the centre may be the hut-site (RO016-094002-) noted by Gannon (1972).
