The National Monuments Service's description
On a slight E-W ridge in a low-lying landscape. Subcircular grass-covered platform (dims 34.5m N-S; 29.5m E-W; H 1.55-2m) defined by slight traces of a bank (int. H 0.25m) NW-N but generally by a fosse (Wth of top 6.7-9.8m; Wth of base 5.8-6.8m; ext. D 0.25-0.5m) and an outer bank (at W: Wth 2.8m; ext. H 0.5m; at N: Wth 5.9m; ext. H 1.3m), which is removed NE-ENE. There is an outer berm (Wth 9.7m at S) SE-SW defined by a scarp (H 0.8m at S). There is an entrance (Wth 5.5m) in the outer bank at ESE (max. ext. dims c. 65m N-S; c. 51m E-W). Test excavations (E000490) in 1989 revealed an area of paving inside the entrance (Killeen 1990, 45).
