The National Monuments Service's description
Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a circular feature (diam. c. 25m), and situated at the bottom of the SW-facing slope of a NW-SE ridge and on the NE shore of Figh Lough, an amorphous bog lake (dims c. 900m NW-SE; c. 200m NE-SW). Rectangular grass-covered area (dims 23m N-S; 17m E-W; H 1.7-2.3m) defined by a fosse at N (Wth of top 4.2m; Wth of base 3m; int. D 2.3m; ext. D 1.8m), a fosse (Wth of top 6.7m; Wth of base 4.4m; int. D 1.7m; ext. D 1.5m) and outer bank (Wth 5.4m; ext. H 1m) at S, and scarps at W (H 1.8m) and E (H 2m). The W end of the outer bank at S is destroyed by a quarry which has also curtailed the perimeter at W, and there is a large swallow-hole called Pollaghadoon E of the monument.
