The National Monuments Service's description
Indicated as a small embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 20m) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and as a mound named 'Doonaunmore' on the 1914 ed. At the bottom of a S-facing slope on the NE shore of Cloonacolly Lough (dims c. 1-1.3km NW-SE; c. 500-600m NE-SW), c. 50m from the shore. Subcircular grass and scrub-covered mound (dims of base 25.5m E-W; 20m N-S) with a flat top (dims 15.6m E-W; 12.5m N-S; H 2.5m at N to 4.3m at S) which has an excavated, grass-covered hollow (diam. of base 2.7m; D 0.8m) at the centre. The mound Doonaun Beg (RO-013-029----) is on the shore c. 400m to the WNW.
