The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a rise towards the bottom of a SW-facing slope. It was first identified by Susan Curran as part of an M.A. thesis with University College Dublin using a LiDAR survey dataset commissioned by Leitrim County Council and the National Roads Authority. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 30m E-W; 29m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (at NW: Wth of base 5.5m; Wth of top 1.4m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.9m) SW-W-N, which is reduced to a scarp (at E: Wth 3.5m; H 0.9m) N-E-S. The perimeter is slightly truncated by a NW-SE field bank at SW. A section of external fosse (at ENE: Wth of top 6.5m; Wth of base 1.9m; int. D 0.9m; ext. D 0.15m) survives N-E, with a causewayed entrance (Wth 4m) at NE. The fosse is replaced by a farm road which skirts the bank WSW-N, and there is a NE-SW field bank just outside the perimeter at SE.
