The National Monuments Service's description
At the bottom of a S-facing slope and c. 45m SE of rath (RO011-160001-). Revealed in excavation (Henry 2000c; Lennon and Henry 2001, vol. 1, 43-6; Lennon 2002, 291). A U-shaped mound of broken and burnt stones (dims 3m E-W; 2.5m N-S; max. T 0.12m) had a hearth and trough (diam. 1m; D 0.4m) on the SW side, and a second trough (dims 1.5m x 1m; D 0.33m) was 1.8m NE of the mound. C14 dates produced a range of 240-410 AD. Prehistoric habitation (RO011-160003-) is just to the N, burnt spread (RO011-160005-) is c. 60m to the SE, and burnt spread (RO011-160006-) is c. 70m to t he E.
