The National Monuments Service's description
At the base of the SE-facing slope of a rise, above a marshy hollow with a NW-SE stream or drain immediately to the S. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims. 39m E-W; 37.2m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (at S: Wth 5.7m; int. H 0.25m; ext. H 0.65m; at W: Wth 6.8m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.25m) SE-NE, which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.75m) elsewhere, and an outer fosse (Wth of base 3-5.25m; D 0.1m at E to 0.6m at W and N). There is an outer bank (Wth 4m; H 0.6m-0.8m) ESE-SE, which may be incorporated into a field bank SE-SW, and a relict N-S field bank approaches the perimeter at ENE, but there is no visible entrance. Rath (RO011-012----) is c. 60m to the SW, but archaeological testing c. 80m to the SW failed to produce any archaeological material (Lennon 2002b). Rath (RO011-014001-) is c. 190m to the SSE.
