The National Monuments Service's description
On a low rise. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 40.3m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 5.35-6.7m; int. H 0.2m at E to 1m at W; ext. H 1.55-1.8m) SW-N-SE and a scarp (H 2.1m) elsewhere, with an outer fosse (Wth of top 7.7-8m; Wth of base 3-4m; D 0.6m at S to 1.15m at W) and outer bank (Wth 3.2-3.7m; H 0.7-1m) SE-N. There is an entrance (Wth 6m), which has probably been widened, at ENE, and a quarry in the W part of the interior. The road (RO006-103012-) from this rath towards Ardcarne church (RO006-103002-) runs just to the N of the monument.
