The National Monuments Service's description
Natural hill with no archaeological features visible. The site is however known locally as the 'Deans Fort' (OSFNB 1838-40, 280) and is marked on the first edition of the Ordnance survey map.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
