The National Monuments Service's description
An irregular deposit of worked wood (L 3.09m; Wth 1.26m; D 0.09m) on the field surface. The deposit consists of fourteen pieces of brushwood (diam. 0.015-0.056m), two roundwoods (diam. 0.068-0.071m) and occasional twigs. These are sparsely laid and one to two pieces deep. There is a possible peg (diam. 0.013m) amongst this material set at 75°. Woodworking is evidenced by two metal-cut chisel points and one wedge point. The site lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with some Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2002. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
