The National Monuments Service's description
The site (L 61.69m; Wth 1.48m; D 0.17m) is orientated NW-SE. At one sighting it consists of three longitudinal split timbers, irregularly laid brushwood, occasional twigs and two vertical pegs on the field surface. These elements are closely spaced and one piece in depth. The brushwood (diam. 0.018-0.045m) and twigs lie around the outer edges of the timber and the pegs (L 0.31-0.7m; diam. 0.05-0.11m) are set 0.42m apart along the E edge of the sighting. Woodworking is evidenced by wedge and pencil points. The three timbers and one of the pegs are radially split, but these may be fragments of what was a single plank originally. This sighting lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum.
The use of planks, half-split roundwoods and split pegs is common to most of the sightings but the width (Wth 0.28-1.48m) and the depth (D 0.11-0.17m) vary along the length of the site. It is highly likely that this structure continued beyond its current recorded extent and may be related to a post row, SMR OF018-181----, c. 35m to the NW. SMR OF018-187---- and SMR OF018-190---- to the SE may also be related.
