The National Monuments Service's description

The site (L 412.4m; Wth 4.88m; D 0.31m) is orientated approximately NE-SW but this varies somewhat along its length. The site maintains a consistent structure along much of its length although it survival varies considerably. It is dominated by transversely laid brushwood and roundwoods with pegs and occasional radially split timbers at some of the central sightings. There are variations in the surviving width (Wth 2.1-4.88m) and the depth (D 0.05-0.31m) along the length of the site. All of the sightings have suffered a degree of machine damage and most of the wood is in poor condition. There is also extensive evidence of decay in this wood, possibly the result of insect infestation. Degraded toolmarks and a possible mortice were noted at one sighting which lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with occasional Eriophorum, ericaceous remains and unidentified reeds. The site has been dendrochronologically dated to 122±9 BC or later (Q10348). SMR OF018-163---- and SMR OF018-160---- are within 5m of the S extent of this site.
