The National Monuments Service's description

Very slight remains of a partially filled in irregular shaped trench located on high ground. Probably filled in over time by agricultural improvements. Similar linear earthwork (OF024-008----) which runs in the same orientation of this linear feature is located to the S.

Archaeological testing under licence no. 03E0039 was carried out as part of the planning schedule for a single house development at Cloughanbane, Tullamore, beside a linear earthwork (SMR 16:39). Trenches were excavated by mechanical digger at the house site, entrance and percolation area. No features or finds of archaeological significance were revealed (Excavations Bulletin 2003).
John Purcell, 17 Balmoral Terrace, Dillon's Cross, Cork.
