The site is partially disturbed (L 41.07m min.; Wth 6.7m; D 0.23m), orientated NW-SE which may continue further to the SE. In an adjacent field to the NW, some isolated brushwood may also relate to this site.
The site was examined at the most SW sighting there appears to have been some displacement and fragmentation of the timbers. As evident, the site is made up of a single longitudinal birch roundwood (diam. 0.105m), which is broken and partially milled. At either end of this element there are transverse pieces of brushwood and roundwoods present with those at the SE extending the width of the site (Wth 2.26m). Smaller lengths of brushwood are also located in the area. A leather shoe (92E148:6) was recovered from amongst this material. In the central area of the opening, the fragmentary remains of a decorated, turned ash bowl (92E148:8) were recovered from within moderately humified Sphagnum peat. The bowl was broken and the individual pieces were stacked in three layers. Woodworking was also recorded on some of the wood. Other wood species identified include ash, hazel, alder and willow. The site is situated in moderately humified Sphagnum peat which contains occasional Eriophorum some Menyanthes seeds. Towards the S, the peat is more highly humified than that to the N.
