The National Monuments Service's description
Three light roundwoods and three woodchips (Wth 0.54m; D 0.17m) in the drain face. The roundwoods and woodchips each form individual clusters and the two groups may not be related. The wood is in poor condition. Evidence for woodworking is limited to the woodchips which sit at the boundary between lower moderately humified Sphagnum peat horizon and upper poorly humified Sphagnum peat horizon, both containing occasional pockets of Eriophorum. The roundwoods occur in the upper horizon. The site is located directly N of SMR OF015-260---- which is noted in the adjacent drain and which includes an outlying plank in a comparable stratigraphic position to the woodchips. The site may also be associated with SMR OF015-199---- or SMR OF015-200---- some 60m to the SE in the same drain, both of which include plank elements. A split timber is present, in the opposing drain face, but its relationship is uncertain. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
