The National Monuments Service's description

A deposit (Wth 2.1m; D 0.32m) of mixed brushwood, twigs and a light roundwood in opposing drain faces. The components are irregularly laid and do not form a clear structure. The wood is most dense towards the SE end of the site, tapering off towards the NW. Twigs tend to be concentrated around the larger elements and numerous leaves are also noted within these clusters. Fewer components are noted in the opposing drain face. Wood species include alder, willow, birch, hazel and oak. The site is located in moderately humified Sphagnum peat. In the adjacent drain to the NE, a complex of sites is recorded but a clear association between the sites has not been established. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
