The National Monuments Service's description

A dispersed arrangement (Wth 2.12m; D 0.37m) of light brushwood, twigs and a single roundwood in opposing drain faces. The components are largely orientated NE-SW but evidence for a clear structure is lacking. Metal-cut chisel points are noted on two pieces. Wood species identified include birch and hazel. The site is situated in a moderately humified Sphagnum peat with ericaceous remains and is overlain by similar peat containing Eriophorum. This is one of a series of comparable sites along a 34m long stretch in this drain face which includes SMR OF015-170---- to the NW and SMR OF015-152---- to the SE. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.

The original survey description was compiled by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin). Assessed and revised by: Caimin O'Brien, Paul Walsh
