The National Monuments Service's description
Located just off the crest of the SE-facing slope of a drumlin. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 42m NNW-SSE; c. 44m E-W) that slopes down to the E, which is defined by an earthen bank incorporated into a road bank (at N: Wth of base 4m int. H 1.4m; ext. H 2.9m) and hedge W-N and by a scarp (at SSE: Wth 2.6m; H 2.4m) and hedge elsewhere. There are slight indications of a fosse SW-W and there is a modernised entrance (Wth of base 3.8m) at ENE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
