The National Monuments Service's description

Located towards the N end of a short NW-SE drumlin ridge overlooking Lough Nagarnaman, the S shore of which is c. 350m to the N. This is a circular grass and scrub-covered area (diam. 34m E-W; 33m N-S) that slopes down gently to the SE (H 1.4m), which is defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.2-5.6m; int. H 0.5-0.6m; ext. H 1.2m at N to 2.4m at S) with some bushes, and an outer fosse (at NW: Wth of top 3.8m; D 0.2m) that are best preserved W-N across the ridge. The entrance (Wth of base 3m) is at S.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
