The National Monuments Service's description
Situated at the crest of the E-facing slope of a drumlin. This is a circular area (diam. 32m NW-SE; 30m NE-SW) that slopes down to the SE (H 2.2m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 5.5-6.5m; int. H 1-1.5m) and hedge separated by a fosse (Wth of top 6.2-8m; ext. D 1.1-2.2m) from an outer flat-topped bank (Wth of base 4.4-7m; Wth of top 2.6m; ext. H 1.1-1.2m) and hedge with an external stone facing. Outside this is a drain (Wth 0.8-1m) and counterscarp bank (Wth 1.5-2m). There is an entrance through the inner (Wth of base 1.1m) and outer bank, now obscured, with a causeway (Wth of top 3.5m; H 0.9m) at SSE.
This monument is subject to a preservation order made under the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 2014 (PO no. 7/1984).
