The National Monuments Service's description
Located towards the top of a N-facing slope. This is an oval grass-covered area (dims 61m ENE-WSW; 47.5m NNW-SSE) defined by a large earthen bank (Wth of base c. 5m; int. H c. 1.5m; ext. H c. 2m) with inner and outer facing stones and some bushes. There is a complete external fosse (Wth of base c. 2m; ext. D c. 1m) and a modern entrance at NW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
