The National Monuments Service's description

Located towards the NE end of a NE-SW drumlin ridge. This is a circular grass-covered area defined by a fosse (at N: Wth of top 2.3m; int. D 1.3m) and an overgrown outer bank (at N: Wth c. 4m; int. H 2.1m; ext. H 0.4m) WSW-N-ENE (diam. 41m E-W; 37m N-S). There is a second outer bank W-N. No entrance can be identified, and it may be a barrow.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
