The National Monuments Service's description
Located at the outer edge of a shelf towards the top of the SW-facing slope of a drumlin. This enclosure is depicted as an embanked rectangular enclosure on the 1834 and 1907 editions of the OS 6-inch map. It is a rectangular grass-covered area (dims 41m E-W; 40m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth c. 3m; int. H c. 0.5m,; ext. H c. 1.8m), an outer fosse and outer bank at N, and scarps with hedges (at E: H 1.55m) and outer drains (at E: Wth of base 1.4m; D 0.4m) on the other sides. There is a ramp entrance (Wth of top 3.2m) at E, and another entrance gap (Wth of base 2m) at W. It might be a small field.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
