The National Monuments Service's description

Located just down from the summit of Lemgare Rocks, on the W side, and overlooking a small sheltered, flat-bottomed valley (dims c. 50m NW-SE; c. 15-20m NE-SW) that slopes down to the NW, which is just to the S. A W-facing rock face is the traditional location of a venue where Mass was celebrated in Penal times. (Ó Gallachair 1957, 113)
