The National Monuments Service's description

Excavated (16E0417) by D. Bayley as part of Site 13, this was located on a slight rise in a fairly level landscape amongst features associated with a large Early Bronze Age fulachta fia mound (ME051-078----). A charcoal-making clamp (dims 1.2m x 1m; D 0.14m) amongst the pits at the E edge of the excavation had four fills with oxidise red/orange clays and charcoal, from which a sample of fruitstone charcoal returned a C14 date of 588-655 cal. AD (FTMC-HR36-10), while a sample of hazel charcoal from an isolated pit (dims 0.66m x 0.46m; D 0-09-0.11m) in the same area provided a date of 706-888 (FTMC-HR36-8 ). (Duffy et. al. 2021, 24-5)
