The National Monuments Service's description

Archaeological monitoring (15E0577) by P. Duffy, D. Bayle and J. Whitaker of topsoil stripping over a large area (c. 92 ha.) conducted intermittently between Dec. 2015 and October 2018 uncovered 37 locations of potential archaeological importance (excavations.ie 2016:051). Each of these was further investigated by the same archaeologists under different licences. At Site 10 excavation (16E0403) by D. Bayley recorded (excavations. ie 2016:534) three intercutting pits in a small area (dims 1.6m x 0.75m). The three pits had the same fill of a brown/grey clay with moderate inclusions of charcoal. Pit 1 (dims 0.65m x 0.2m) was truncated by a ditch to the SW, and Pit 2 (dims 0.9m, x 0.5m) had a concentration of charcoal on its NW side. Pit 3 (dims 0.5m x 0.25m) was truncated on the SE side by a ditch. No artefacts were recovered and no dating is available. (Duffy et. al. 2021, 35)
