The National Monuments Service's description

An octagonal font (ext. diam. 0.44m; int. diam. 0.32m; D 0.1m; H 0.2m) with a central drain-hole (diam. 0.08m) was outside the Roman Catholic church in 1985 (SMR file). It was accompanied by a biconical, faceted stem (diam. of top 0.3m; H 0.28m) that has a raised moulding at the waist, but these were not present in 2015 (SMR file). (Bradley and King 1985, 126)

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
