The National Monuments Service's description
A deeply truncated kiln consisting of a circular bowl (diam. 0.84-0.87m; D 0.19m) with a flue extension (L 1.6m) to the S was c. 6m outside the fosse of enclosure (ME038-001----) at N. It was filled with mixed layers of boulder clay and charcoal over an oxidized subsoil cut. A sample of barley from it produced a C14 date of 249-426 cal. AD (BETA 247073). The remains of a hearth (dims 1.2m x 1.1m D 0.19m) with charcoal-rich fills and an oxidized base was c. 12m to the SW. (Wiggins et al. 2009) 33 up 10 to W.
