The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a gently undulating landscape. A gradiometer survey (17R0082) by J. M. Leigh Surveys identified numerous potential archaeological features in an extensive area (c. 20 ha). Targeted archaeological testing (17E0354) by David Murphy of many of these proved that they are either natural or agricultural in origin (excavations.ie 2017:148). Two potential archaeological areas were identified and probed. This is a concentration (diam. 4m plus; T 0.1-0.2m) of heat-shattered stone in matrix of black charcoal-rich sandy silt. It is recommended that it be preserved in situ. (Murphy 2017, 51-3)
