Megalithic tomb - passage tomb

The National Monuments Service's description

Knowth cemetery, Tomb 10: Located c. 18m NW of the great mound, Tomb 1C, and just NE of Tomb 9. Two kerb stones but no evidence of a mound on the stripped subsoil are all that survived of this tomb. The stump of an orthostat with packing stones and some cremated remains, together with a single socket indicate its site. The mound is partially reconstructed and two stone sockets are marked with concrete posts. (Eogan 1974, 18, Site 7; 1984, 59-63, Site 10; 1986, 75-7)

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
