The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a level landscape with the headwaters of W-E streams just to the N and S and hills rising over it to the N and S. A circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) is faintly depicted on the 1836 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is annotated as a defaced ‘Fort’. This is a D-shaped or subrectangular grass-covered area (dims 53m N-S; 40m E-W) defined by grass-covered fosses or moats (Wth of top 5.6m at S to 9m at N; int. D 1-1.2m; ext. D 0.3m at W to 1.6m at N). There is an entrance (Wth 4.4m) at SE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
