The National Monuments Service's description

Situated at the NE end of an undulating NE-SW ridge in a low-lying landscape. This is a subcircular grass-covered area (dims 32m NE-SW; 27m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 4.5-5m; int. H 0.3-0.5m; ext. H 0.9-1.3m) with some bushes that is reduced to a scarp (Wth 3m; H 1.6m) at SSE, and there are slight traces of a fosse at NE (ext. D 0.2m) and S. The entrance (Wth of base 2.2m) is at SW. The interior is overlain by a relict NNE-SSW field bank.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
