The National Monuments Service's description

Located towards the bottom of a S-facing slope and c. 60m from the N shore of the small, teardrop-shaped Glen Lough (max. dims c. 170m E-W; c. 70m N-S) that has now been reclaimed. This is a circular overgrown area (diam. 28m NNW-SSE; 28m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 4-5m; int. H 0.3-0.5m; ext. H 1.6m at NNW to 2.4m at SSE), best preserved NNE-S. This is separated by a fosse (Wth of top 9.5-13m; ext. D 0.6-1m) from an outer bank (Wth of base 3-4m; ext. H 1.2m), which is incorporated into a field bank NNW-ENE. A gap (Wth of base 2.5m) in the inner bank at ENE could be the original entrance (max. ext. diam. 48m NNW-SSE).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
