The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a gentle SE-facing slope. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 37.5m WNW-ESE; 37m NE-SW) that slopes down (H 1.9m) to the SE. It is defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 4-4.5m; int. H 0.3-0.4m; ext. H 1.2-1.6m) with some bushes that is separated by a wide outer fosse (at NNW: Wth of top 6.5m; Wth of base 5.2m; ext. D 0.7m) from an outer counterscarp bank (at NNW: Wth of base 2; ext. H 0.2m) S-NNW, but the fosse is reduced to a berm (at ESE: Wth 1.5m) elsewhere. There is a wide entrance (Wth of base 3.4m) at ESE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
