The National Monuments Service's description

Located at the S tip of a small N-S spur with the ridge of Mullaghmeen in Co. Westmeath rising over it to the SW. This is a large grass-covered area (diam. 94m NNW-SSE; 87m ENE-WSW) that slopes down to the S (H 4m). It is defined by a slight earthen bank (Wth of base 11-12m; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 0.3-0.8m) W-N-S, and by a scarp and traces of a fosse S-W. An original entrance is not identified.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
