The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the SW-facing spine of a NE-SW drumlin ridge. This is a raised and grass-covered area (diam. 48m NW-SE; 47.5m NE-SW) that slopes down to the S (H c. 2m). It is defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 7-9m; int. H 0.2m at SE to 0.8m at NW; ext. H 2.1-2.7m) and hedge with an outer fosse (at NE: Wth of top 8.5; ext. D 0.7m) W-N-S both of which are best preserved NW-NE. The entrance (Wth of base 2.1m) and causeway (Wth of top 3m; H 0.35m) are at E.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
