The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a gentle NE-facing slope. This is a subcircular overgrown area (dims 42m E-W; 36m N-S) that slopes down slightly to the E (H 0.8m). It is defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at WSW: Wth of base 7.5m; int. H 1.3m; ext. H 2.5m) SE-W that is largely reduced to a scarp (at ENE: Wth of base 3.5m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 2m) elsewhere, with an outer stone facing NW-E. There are traces of an outer fosse (at ENE: Wth of base 1.5m; ext. D 0.2m) WNW-N-ENE that is re-cut as a drain S-WNW. The most likely original entrance (Wth of base 1.4m) is a gap at ENE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
