The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a rise with rock outcrop and on a slight W-facing slope in a low-lying landscape between drumlins. This is a raised circular and overgrown area with rock outcrop (diam. 18m N-S; c. 18m E-W; H 2.8-4.7m) within a circular overgrown area (diam. c. 46m N-S; 44.5m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (at E: Wth of base 7m; int. H 1.5m; ext. H 3m), with traces of an external fosse (at NNE: Wth of base 2.7m; ext. D 0.5m) NNW-SE. There is an entrance (Wth of base 2.2m) through the bank and traces of a causeway (Wth of top 3.2m; H 0.5m) at ESE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
