The National Monuments Service's description

On high rocky area with small turlough to E. Poorly preserved remains of rectangular tower (8.5m N-S; 8m E-W), constructed of roughly coursed masonry. SW angle with well-dressed quoins survives (H 2.5m), with slight returns to S and W. Batter on S wall. Barrel vaulted basement is badly damaged and contains much rubble infill. Slight traces of spiral stairs remain in SW corner. Tower; stands at E end of small bawn (15m X 15m); enclosed by larger bawn (62m N-S; 52m E-W) containing corner tower (H 2m) in NE.
