The National Monuments Service's description
In improved pasture, utilising a low elevation in lowlying gently undulating limestone grassland. Ground falls away very gradually to W and SW to an area of wettish ground, marked ‘Liable to flood’ on the OS 6-inch maps. Good views, most extensive to W.
A circular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 25m) is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; it is not shown on later map editions. This probable rath has been levelled, but a roughly circular area (28m E-W; 28m N-S) can still be traced at ground level, defined at NE−W by a slight undulation and at W−NW by a low, uneven scarp (H 0.6m; Wth slope 3m) merging with a low natural slope. A shallow dip (Wth 2-3m) immediately outside the levelled scarp at E may indicate an infilled fosse. An E−W field wall crosses the N edge of the enclosure, overlying what appears to be a remnant of the original bank/scarp. Parallel to this wall, on its S side a tractor track crosses the enclosure. The interior is level and featureless; grass-covered.
