The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, utilising a natural rise in undulating terrain. Views are good, especially to E, but not extensive. Immediately to NW is a natural hollow filled with standing water.
Substantially raised circular platform (37m N−S; 40m E−W) defined by a scarp (H 1.1m at E, 1.7m at W), outside which it is enclosed by a fosse which takes the form of a terrace (Wth 3.7m at E, 3.3m at W, 5.5m at N). The terrace is defined on its outer edge by a scarp (H 0.5m at E, 0.7m at W) with a slightly raised stony rim in parts, possibly remnants of an outer bank. At S, an E−W field fence truncates the outer edge of the terrace. A slump (Wth 6-7m) in the platform scarp at ENE−E may be the site of an original entrance.
The rath interior is slightly raised in the centre, with a slight drop in ground level from centre to perimeter. On the E side of this rise, there are three small irregular-shaped grass-covered stone heaps (diam. c. 1-1.5m; H 0.2m) 2-5m apart in a N−S row.
The rath perimeter is lightly ringed with hawthorn bushes and three beech trees.
