The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, located on a rise in undulating terrain. Views, most open to SE, are good but not extensive.
Raised subcircular area (49m N−S; c. 45m E−W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.2m at SE, 5m at NW; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.8-1m), reduced almost to a scarp on the S arc. Outside the bank at NE-SE there is a fosse, evident as a shallow surface depression (Wth 2. 2.5m) with a hint of an external bank (Wth c. 3m). There is a break in the inner bank at NE but it is unclear if this is an original entrance.
The interior has a gently undulating surface, with higher ground in the N half. In the NE quadrant there is a shallow surface depression (3-4m across) partly filled with loose small stones.
The rath is tightly boxed in on the S, W and N by field fences. The field fence at N incorporates the N arc of the rath bank, and an E−W road lies immediately outside it, respecting the curve of the rath. Another road (coinciding with the townland boundary) is 30m to E bordering the E side of the field.
The rath interior is grassy; the perimeter is thickly ringed with hazel and hawthorn trees and brambles.
