The National Monuments Service's description
In hilly undulating pasture, with good views over lowlying land to N.
Not shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; shown on the 1916 edition as a wooded subcircular enclosure.
A broadly oval area (c. 50m E−W; c. 43m N−S) incorporating a low rounded hillock with a relatively small area of level ground (diam. 10-15m) on the summit, from which ground falls away gently on the S half (H c. 2m) and more steeply on the N side (H c. 3m). A scarp (H 0.8-1m at S) is cut into the base of the slope; it is well defined and quite vertical faced and may originally have been faced with stones. A shallow quarry pit (diam. c. 10m) cuts into the NW slope, and a small portion of the enclosing scarp at E has also been dug away. The trees shown on the 1916 map are gone.
