The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, located on a prominent rise with extensive views in all directions over the surrounding undulating terrain.
This well preserved bivallate rath consists of an oval platform (28m NW–SE; 23.5m NE–SW) defined by a scarp (H 1.4m), enclosed by a fosse (Wth 1.7m at SW, 2.3m at NE) with an external bank (Wth 1.6m at SW, 2m at NW; int. H 1.1m at SW, 0.45m at NE; ext. H 1.2m at SW, 0.65m at NE). The fosse is evident as a shallow depression marked by a growth of rushes. The low and flat-topped external bank is incorporated at SSE–WNW into a field fence, which respects the curve of the enclosure.
The interior has a slightly domed profile, comprising a roughly central flattish area (diam. c. 6m) from which the ground slopes outwards on all sides, with a drop in height from the centre to the perimeter of c. 1m. There is an entrance gap (Wth 3m) at the SE with a causeway across the fosse.
According to local tradition, there is a souterrain (MA102-006001-) in the interior.
Grass cover, with rushes, gorse, brambles and hawthorn trees around the perimeter.
