The National Monuments Service's description

In improved pasture, located at break of slope on top of a rise on a NW–SE ridge with extensive views over the SW shore of Mannin Lake. Higher ground restricts views to SW–N.
Depicted on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a circular embanked enclosure (diam. 15-20m), and on the 1917 edition as a circular hachured feature (diam. c.10-15m).
A circular mound (13 NE–SW; 14m NW–SE; H 1.4m at SW, 1.6m at NE) with a saucer-shaped profile. The top (7.6m NE–SW; 9m NW–SE) of the mound is defined by a slightly raised rim grading seamlessly into the gently concave centre. It appears to be predominantly earthen in construction, although some stone protruding randomly from the sloping sides. It is well preserved, grass-covered, with a few hawthorn bushes growing on the perimeter. A field wall on NW−SE axis lies immediately to SW.
