The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the flat marshy bottom towards the eastern end of a small peat basin in enclosed grazing land. It lies 7.6m SSW of an enclosure (MA085-054----). Two other fulachtaí fia (MA085-052----, MA085-053----) lie 18m to E and 28m to SE, respectively. The fulacht fia is exposed in the north-north-eastern face of a recently cut drain (c. 1993–4) that runs WNW–ESE is a lens of heat-fractured stone (L 7.1m, T c. 0.2m), partially overlying peat. The lens comprises small, angular sandstone type rock (max. dim. 0.05–0.1m), although a number of flat slabs (max. dim. 0.5m) are also visible among the upcast on the northern bank of the drain. No visible surface traces survive.
