The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a small islet in the stream that bifurcates for a short distance at this point before rejoining again immediately to N of the monument. It lies c.17m NNW of MA085-006001-. The fulacht fia comprises a low and poorly defined mound of irregular outline but roughly ovate in plan (NE–SW c. 7m, NW–SE c. 4.85m, H 0.6m max. on the south-western side). At the centre is a slight hollow with an extension towards the north-western edge of the mound. This may indicate the position of the trough. Burnt stone is exposed on summit and flanks of the mound.
The above description is derived from: New Survey of Clare Island. Volume 5: Archaeology. Edited by Paul Gosling, Conleth Manning and John Waddell. (Royal Irish Academy, Dublin. 2007). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated.
